Happy New Year!

New Years Eve. Time to say goodbye to yet another year and hello to another one. My 2011 has been very hectical. It started off shitty with a lot of trouble with the opposite sex - a lot of headache. Then it turned good as I rounded a corner aging wise and graduated as a professional make up artist, and then ended bad again when I lost my grandpa in the end of October. So it's been a year full of ups and downs but that is life.
I hope 2012 will be a much better year, I'm positive that it will start wonderful at least. I'm celebrating it with  my parents, our neighbours who happen to be the parents of my best friend's, his girlfriend, his littlebrother and the littlebrother's girlfriend too. And it's always wonderful being in company with those people. 2012 will also be the year where I move to Copenhagen, hopefully start the education to become a hairdresser. I've finally made up my mind that I'm going that way too. Then I recently, a few days ago, got booked as a make up artist for a band to help them with promotion pictures which I'm very excited about seeing as I would love to work in the music industry - so it's definitely a good beginning.

Happy New Year everyone and thank you for this year and for that you even want to follow me and read about my life. Love you.

Sons of Anarchy vol 2!

I'm at a friend's place right now. She invited me to their family Christmas dinner tomorrow and since her and I haven't seen each other for a while we decided that we would make an all-nighter. About an hour ago I introduced her to the TV show "Sons of Anarcy" that you know that I'm a big fan of and man she is hooked! Haha, she's totally into it as well as I am - crazy! So I have a feeling that we will watch this the whole night, not that I mind ;O)

Secret to a natural, flawless look - how to do the base aka foundation

1. Apply foundation to your cheeks, forehead, and chin using a foundation brush, sponge, or clean fingertips. Blend the foundation all the way to your natural hairline with long, light strokes.
2. Continue blending over the jawline and onto your neck to achieve a natural, seamless look. Check your face and neck in natural light to make sure the foundation is completely blended in all areas.
3. If under-eye circles or red spots remain, do not add more foundation; it can look heavy and cakey. Instead try a concealer.

Tip:Choose the shade of your foundation carefully. When testing out shades, pick one that matches the tone of your jawline exactly. It helps to use a mirror outdoors to see how shades look in natural light.

Tip:Begin by applying a small amount of foundation then increase amount to achieve the degree of coverage that suits your skin.

Tip: For daytime, mix your foundation with a light SPF moisturizer before applying for a smoother, more sheer application.

Good luck!

How to get well-defined, well-groomed brows

1. Brush your eyebrows straight up with an eyebrow brush. Using small straight scissors, carefully trim any hairs that are curly or too long. Then brush the brows back into their natural shape.
2. Hold a pencil along the side of your nose to ensure that the inner edge of your brow lines up with the inside corner of your eye.
3. Move the pencil so that it intersects with your iris. The arch of your brow should line up with the pencil.
4. Angle the pencil from the outside edge of your nose to the outer corner of your eye to determine where your brow should end.
5. Tweeze where necessary and fill in with a soft pencil or powder.
6. Brush with an eyebrow brush and apply eyebrow gel to keep strays in place.

Good luck!

".. and your brown eyes"

Do you know that song of Lady Gaga? There's just something about pale men with brown eyes. Mmm gorgeous. Just finished a conversation with a special brown eyed guy. It's always so nice to talk to him - he's indeed a sweetheart. :) Might have to just get on the plane and go see him some time soon, if he doesn't come here that is.

Anyways. Now I'm off to a job appointment and then when I get home I'll continue the sorting-out-in-my-closet-thing I got going on. After losing weight some clothes has gotten too big and well I got lots that I don't even wear, so out with that and in with new clothes. Took some pictures yesterday of my skirt marathon - crazy. I'll show you later.

Normal boring girl on a normal boring day. Better get going. xo

Face shapes

There are 7 kind of face shapes. The oval shaped (which is the perfect shaped face and the shape you're trying to make your face seem like just like with the eyes), the round shaped, the oblong shaped, the square shaped, the rectangular shaped, the heart shaped and the pear shaped face. Today we will look at the pear shaped face.

This shape is the opposite of the heart shaped face and is slimmer at the top and wider at the jawline. To make the jawline slimmer apply dark shadow at the jaws and below the cheekbone - apply lighter shadow to the top of your face to make it seem shorter.

Apply lighter shadow above the dark that you have put below the cheekbones. The rouge must be horizontical as your face gets slimmer the further you go up. Be careful, don't make it all drag look alike.

As for hair that'll help with the shape becoming perfect, any voluminous hair on the top of your head will do really great!

Good luck!

The shape is wide at the forehead and small at the chin (Reese Witherspoon is a classic heart shape). To make your face seem like the perfect shaped one apply darker shadow to the corners of your forehead and on your chin to make it seem shorter.

Apply a lighter rouge horizontical to your cheeks to make your face seem wider. Be careful, don't make it all drag look alike.

As for hair that'll help with the shape becoming perfect, a long page that stops at your chin will do really great!

Good luck!

December 93-94

That's me back in 93 or 94, so either I was 2 or 3, back when we actually had SNOW in December, back when we had WINTER when it actually WAS winter. I miss those days, I miss a snowy December, a white Christmas, being able to play in the snow because there was so much that we were able to. It hasn't snown here yet and the chances of getting a white Christmas are like 0. I don't know how about you but I can't really seem to get in the mood for Christmas without snow - I just need it, it's just needed. It's the topping of the cake! Unfurtunately the weather changes and I'm quite sure than in 10 years I'll probably have snow on my birthday which is May 10th. Bring me back to the good old days!

Will someday ever come back?

While listening to this awesome song  that I have heard so many times but never knew who sang it, I found it on youtube. Got figure it's even the Danish band named Michael Learns To Rock! I got a thing for music from the 90s!

Well while listening to it I looked through my pictures and found several of old ones. Have you ever tried that and thought "What the..?" or "Wow. Why don't I look like THAT anymore?! :("

I found this;

My first thought was "Why don't I look like that anymore!?" My second thought was "Oh geez, that time" - about the posters on my wall. I have no comments about the posters, don't know where they are and I'm actually embarrassed about it so moving on. At that time I had my medusa piercing too. I kind of miss it to be honest. Well that feeling comes and goes. Before I pulled it out after having it for 14 months I thought those piercings around my mouth were just too much and I definitely wouldn't get rid off my snake bites, that I've wanted since I was 12! So the medusa had to go and now I'm actually thinking about getting it done again. I need some kind of piercing done soon - you get addicted. I've been thinking about getting one of my nostrils pierced, my left most likely, but I think I have a weird, wide nose so it won't look good. I don't know. Maybe I'll pierce my belly button next time or get another dermal anchor somewhere - who knows? :) Ink will come, don't worry.
But to get back to the look - will I ever look like that again? Maybe I should try. (I miss my black hair too, haha but will give the brown a shot).

Today we will look at the rectangular shaped face.

The shape is a little alike the square shaped face, the rectangular face is just a little longer than it's wide. Both forehead and jawline are wide. Just like the square shaped face apply darker shadow to the corners of your forehead and to the jawline to cut off the edges.

Apply the lighter rouge horizontical to make your face seem shorter. Be careful, don't make it all drag look alike.

As for hair that'll help with the shape becoming perfect, any long and voluminous hair will do really great, be careful that it doesn't gets too big on the top of your head!

Today we will look at the square shaped face.

The shape is squareish with a wide forehead and jawline. To make your face seem like the perfect shaped face and to make it more soft looking, you can apply darker shadow on your jawline and at the sides of your forehead to "cut off" the hard edges. Apply lighter shadow on your chin to make your face seem longer.

Apply the lighter rouge vertical on your cheek bones and a darker below the lighter shadow.

As for hair that'll help with the shape becoming perfect, any long, straight will do really great and also cut off the sharp edges!

The shape is long with slightly round shapes and often a long nose or/and chin. The face, the nose and chin must be shorter.
Apply the lighter rouge horizontical to make your face seem wider. Apply darker shadow on your chin and forehead to make your face seem shorter. You can also apply some on your nose tip to make that one seem shorter. Be careful, don't make it all drag look alike.

The shape is wide and short with the middle being the widest part - at the cheeks. To make your face seem like the perfect shaped face you can apply light shadow at your bones to make them clearer and dull the roundness with a darker shadow - that way your face seems slimmer.

Apply the darker rouge vertical to make your face seem longer, and add the lighter shadow to the jawline, your cheek bones above the dark rouge and some light shadow at the bones at your forehead. Be careful, don't make it all drag look alike.

The shape looks like an egg and is the easiest to work with because it doesn't need any correction. The cheek bones are a little wider than the forehead which is wider than the jawline.

If you're lucky to have this kind of face shape you don't have to think about correcting the cheeks, chin, forehead etc. You can apply the rouge vertical or horizontal - just how you'd like it. Not much to say to this.

Eyeshapes

There are 7 kinds of eyeshapes. The "perfect" eyes, small eyes, big eyes, protruding eyes, deep-set eyes, close-set eyes and far from-set eyes. Today we will take a look at the "perfect" eyes and what kind of make up you can wear and what you should avoid.

Always remember when you're doing make up that: Light colors emphasize and dark colors damp.

If you are lucky like I am and have "perfect" eyes then you can do whatever you want and wear all kind of colors. If you have "perfect" eyes then you can have an extra eye between those two. Meaning, if there is the same size (that your eyes have) from inner corner to inner corner of your eyes (over your nose) then your have perfect eyes. You can wear bright, dull, light and dark colors. Warm and cold. Wear lots of eyeliner and mascara - feel free to whatever you'd like, you don't have to think about anything!

Good luck!

Eyeshapes

There are 7 kinds of eyeshapes. The "perfect" eyes, small eyes, big eyes, protruding eyes, deep-set eyes, close-set eyes and far from-set eyes. Today we will take a look at the far from-set eyes and what kind of make up you can wear and what you should avoid.

Always remember when you're doing make up that: Light colors emphasize and dark colors damp.

If you have far from-set eyes use a dark shadow in the inner corner of your eyelid both on the upper and lower to pull your eyes closer to one another, and use a lighter color on the outer corner. Just like with the close-set eyes use a medium color on the lid and do not let the dark and light colors meet in the middle of the eyelid. Use a highlight that you'd like - shining or not.

Good luck!

Use a medium color on the lid - do not let the light and dark colors meet in the middle of your eyelid. Use a highlight that you'd like - shining or not.

Eyeshapes

There are 7 kinds of eyeshapes. The "perfect" eyes, small eyes, big eyes, protruding eyes, deep-set eyes, close-set eyes and far from-set eyes. Today we will take a look at the big eyes and what kind of make up you can wear and what you should avoid.

Always remember when you're doing make up that: Light colors emphasize and dark colors damp.

If you have big eyes the idea is to creat a more almond shaped eye. Almond shaped eyes are the "perfect" eye shape, that's the ideal eye shape. Use light shadows on your eyelid and darker shadows in the crease and above the crease. Feel free to use lots of eyeliner and mascara both on the upper lashes and the lower lashes!Put liner on the wet line of your eye, it'll make your eye seem smaller. Lady Gaga has big eyes too, if you need inspiration take a look at her many make up looks.

Avoid!! : Only wearing one color eyeshadow - always wear at least two or your eye will just seem bigger.

So lots of eyeliner and mascara, and at least two color shadows.

Good luck!

Eyeshapes

There are 7 kinds of eyeshapes. The "perfect" eyes, small eyes, big eyes, protruding eyes, deep-set eyes, close-set eyes and far from-set eyes. Today we will take a look at the small eyes and what kind of make up you can wear and what you should avoid.

Always remember when you're doing make up that: Light colors emphasize and dark colors damp.

If you have small eyes use a darker shadow to make an almond shaped cone from the middle of your eyelid and stop right after the outer corner of your lid (to picture it it'll look like the fin of a fish - not a shark!! but a beautiful fish, just make it more smooth). Tint the dark shadow to your crease. Use lighter colors on the rest of the eyelid that will make it seem bigger, and put highlighter up to your brow.

Avoid!! : Dull, dark colors, to make a crease or make it outstanding (that way your eye will seem smaller) and too much eyeliner. Do not wear too much eyeliner or mascara underneath your eye - if any!

So lots of bright, light colors in all kind of colors - you choose, and not too much eyeliner.

Good luck!

Always remember when you're doing make up that: Light colors emphasize and dark colors damp.
If you have deep-set eyes use light, bright shining colors over the whole eyelid. Darker colors can be used to create a fake crease above the natural crease to make your eye seem bigger. Just like the protruding eyes apply a little eyeshadow upwards to your eyebrow to bring your eyes out from that fine little hole - fx. use the color that you would use for the fake crease.
Avoid!! : Dark, dull colors and powerfull eyeliner.
So no dark colors, that will push your eyes deeper into your head and the same will a too dark and powerfull eyeliner - keep the line slim.

Good luck!

Always remember when you're doing make up that: Light colors emphasize and dark colors damp.

If you have protruding eyes use a shadow on the whole eyelid. Make it slimmest in the inner corner of your eyelid and make it slightly wider as you move to the outer corner of your eye, and apply a little upwards to your eyebrow - that way you will push your eyes a little into your head. Use a darker shadow in the crease and neutral highlighter on the brow bone.

Avoid!! : Shinning colors, pale and bright shades and light eyeliner.

So no perl looking shadows on your lid nor as highlight and always wear a black, dark brown or grey eyeliner.

Good luck!

Cat eyes

Do you also fascinate those amazing eyes that the celebrities have on the red carpet? And have you ever wondered how to make them? Then stay tuned because I will show you how you can!

Start with making a thick line from inner corner to outer corner. You can make the line as thick as you'd like, there are no rules.
Then draw a line out from the outer corner of your eye - again it's your decision whether you're like it to go up a bit like Angelina Jolie has it or make it horizontical or make it go straight up like Amy Winehouse. It's also your decision how long you'd like it to be.
When you've decide how long it should be, make a line from the point back to the upper part of the liner you drew at first.
And then you just have to fill the drawings you've made and voila you've made yourself a cat eye.

Also remember as more you practice the better you get. :)

Good luck!

Nails

People say that nails are the most important of one's look. Nails tell a lot about a person whether they're polished, fake or even dirty.

The steps to having good looking nails are simple, and how you'd like your nails is only up to you. The good thing about nails is that you can form and design them exactly how you'd like them. Just like with hair. In fact nails are made of hair, it's just pressed really really hard.

Clean under your nails from the dirt. If you have long nails you can use them to do it - and I'm sure you automatically do that when you're bored, I know I do. If you have shorter nails you can get tools that can helo with that, often the end of files can help with that.

Cut your nails so they are all the same lenght and file so they look the same, whether they're round or square.

If you'd like natural nails but a bit glossy you can use a clean polish on top - looks fabulous, or else decorate them like you'd like. To make the polish last longer use a fat removing liquid, you can buy that in stores, then a base coat and then the color you'd like and finish with a top coat then the polish will last 1-2 weeks, and not just a few days.

Good luck!

It's going to be a purple Christmas?

I know I've already been lacking with the calendar, I've been busy with decorating, working, shopping and my new hair!

Spent three hours at the hairdresser. The new color is brown with a purple touch. First we tried the haircolor that would make it the color my hair has but because my hair was so blonde, it turned out completely purple! So we added a darker brown and voila, I got the color that I expected. I actually didn't want it that dark but I can easily pull it off if I may say so myself. Also the hairdresser cut off SO much of my hair because of damager. I knew it but just wasn't ready to get it off. I allowed her to cut off like 3/4 of the damaged hair - so my hair is super super short, have to get use to that now! If she had cut of everything I would have gone shoulder length, a long page, and I was definitely NOT ready for that! So now it's time for extenssions, I need long hair.

Here's after the first coloring. You see why I thought it was too purple? My dad likes it though and thinks I should have kept that color.

And now I'll keep up with the calendar. :) If you'd like anything please let me know!

Skin care

If you suffer from pimples and don't know what to do this is your time to read. There are billions of creams, tonics etc out there, and it's always difficult to choose the right one. I can't tell you which one is the best for you because that is different from person to person. I, myself, do not get along with the expensive products but the cheaper products that you get in Matas (Danish store) work absolutely perfect with my skin.

One of the most important rules when it comes to your skin is to remove your make up before you go to bed! It is not healthy at all for your skin to sleep with make up. Your skin breathes and creates new cells during the night, therefor it's not good to leave the make up on and the pores closed. When you go to bed put on a cream, your skin also takes up more during night.

Remember to peel your skin once a week, to remove the dead skin cells so they won't get stuck in your pores and that way create pimples. Do not peel too much though, it is not healthy for your skin!
When you've peeled your skin put on a face mask after your own choice. The peeling and mask do not have to be in the same product serie as your cream. You can apply a mask every often as you'd like but only peel your skin once a week.

If you have a red, sore spot that you know will turn out as a pimple - do not fear. Everyone has a very effective product at home that helps - they just don't know it. Grab your toothpaste and put some onto your red spot - it is one of the best products to remove upcoming pimples. If it stings it's normal, just a sign of it's working.

Again; no skin types are the same - therefor I can't tell you what works for you, you have to find out yourself. But the things I listed work on everyone, and the two first are the most important things.

Good luck!

Red lips

Red lips are a classic whether it's on the red carpet or just out in town having fun. It never fails. Well it can but if you do it the way I tell you then it definitely won't - there's nothing worse but smeared make up and definitely not smeared red lipstick!

The things you need is:

a.) A red lip liner. It doesn't have to fit the color completely, in fact you can easily choose a liner there's a bit darker than the lipstick - it looks great. Never choose one that's lighter though, that comes off a bit cheap.

b.) The red lipstick that you'd like.

How to:
Start with the lip liner. There are several of ways how to apply it like it's shown on the pic below.
Lip 1.: Normal lips. Apply the liner following the natural line of your lips. Quick and easy.
Lip 2.: Bigger lips. Apply the liner just on the outside of the natural lip line. That way your lips will seem bigger. If you have small lips this is a great way to make them bigger, or if you just want a seductive look you can do that as well.
Lip 3.: Smaller lips. Apply the liner just on the inside of the natural lip line. That way your lips will seem smaller. If you have big lips that's a great way to make them look smaller.
Lip 4.: Adjusting your lips. This is if you have un-alike lips. If your lip is a little slimer on the left or right you can adjust this way to make it look perfect. Follow the natural lip line on one of the sides and adjust the line on the opposite side so that it's alike like the other side. If you're a little wider on your upper lip on the left side, simply put the liner a little on the inside of your lip and they will be alike. Do the same with the lower lip if it isn't alike.

And now all you have to do is fill with lipstick, lots of lipstik.

The liner will help keep the lipstick in place so it won't smear.
Good luck!

Is the fun over?

Two more days of being a blondie and then it's official over, I can asure that. Does that mean that the fun is over too? The myth that blondes have more fun is not true - I felt no difference.
As you can tell by the picture I'm not wearing make up - I have a day off today which actually is pretty nice because then I can clean and get the house ready for Christmas with all the decorations.

Tried something new, just for fun the other day. Did curls a whole new way, you can see the result in the pic. My boss at my job who's a hairdresser keeps telling me that I should become one as well because I'm so creative and have so many ideas. I've always said I didn't want to spend four years on learning how to cut because I obviously can all the other things; style, color, do extenssions - but since she keeps telling me that I must admit it's getting more and more tempting. We'll see.

Anyways I've been thinking about giving you something during all those days until Christmas, so I made up my mind that I'll make a calendar with facts and tips, giving you a make up or hair tip from today until Dec. 24th. I hope you'll like it and if there's anything you'd like to know please leave a comment and I'll put it in the calendar, or else I'll pick 24 topics :O)

Stay tuned!
